Squishy Gift Guide: Fun Picks for Kids, Teens and Grown-Ups

Squishies make fun, easy gifts. They're satisfying to squeeze, simple to wrap, and there's one to suit almost any personality. We keep our lineup short (three squishies), so this guide is short and practical too. Here's who each one suits, plus ideas for stockings, birthdays and the people who are hard to shop for.

Meet the three squishies

NeeDoh Nice Cube

The NeeDoh Nice Cube is a 2.25 in squishy cube from NeeDoh by Schylling. Squeeze it slowly and it's soft. Squeeze it fast and it's firm. It always returns to a cube. Choose blue, pink or purple. Ages 3+.

NeeDoh Gummy Bear

The NeeDoh Gummy Bear is a squishy jelly bear with a big grin and a bow tie, about 3.7 in tall, also from NeeDoh by Schylling. It returns to bear shape after a squeeze. Choose Berry Blast (blue), Groovy Grape (purple), Alright Orange (orange) or Way Out Watermelon (pink). Ages 3+.

Giant Butter Squishy

The Giant Butter Squishy is an unbranded, super-soft slow-rise PU foam squishy that looks like a stick of butter. It's about 9.4 in long. Squishy toy, not food. Ages 3+.

Gifts for kids (ages 3+)

• For little character fans: the Gummy Bear. Its grin and bow tie make it feel like a new friend, and you can choose their favorite of the four colors.
• For kids who like something to fidget with: the Nice Cube. The slow-soft, fast-firm squeeze keeps it interesting.
• For kids who love a silly surprise: the Giant Butter Squishy. Since it looks like food, remind them it's a toy, not a snack.

Good to know: all three are for ages 3+. The NeeDoh Nice Cube and Gummy Bear carry a choking hazard warning for small parts and are not for children under 3. Their care line is Do NOT heat, freeze, or microwave. For the butter, keep it away from heat and sharp objects.

Gifts for teens

• A Nice Cube in their favorite color for a desk, nightstand or backpack.
• The Gummy Bear for teens who like cute things on their shelf.
• The Giant Butter Squishy as a funny surprise. It makes a great photo prop, and it usually gets a double take.

Tip: if you know their favorite color, use it. You can pick the color for both NeeDoh squishies.

Gifts for grown-ups

• For the desk: the Nice Cube is small and low-key, a satisfying fidget that fits right next to a keyboard.
• For the office gift exchange: the Giant Butter Squishy is a conversation starter.
• For the friend who loves cute things: the Gummy Bear, in the color that suits them.
• For the home baker, or anyone who has strong opinions about butter: you already know which one.

Stocking stuffer ideas

• The Nice Cube is the easiest fit at 2.25 in. Give each person a different color so nobody mixes them up.
• The Gummy Bear, at about 3.7 in tall, works for stockings too. Pick a different color for each family member.
• The Giant Butter Squishy is about 9.4 in long, so it's better as a surprise peeking out of the top of a big stocking, or as a gift on its own.
• Stuffing stockings for kids? All three are for ages 3+, and the NeeDoh squishies are not for children under 3.

Birthday ideas

• The squishy trio: one Nice Cube, one Gummy Bear and one Giant Butter Squishy, for a gift with a bit of everything.
• A color theme: the Nice Cube and Gummy Bear in the birthday person's favorite color family, like a pink cube with a Way Out Watermelon bear.
• A little extra: tuck a Nice Cube into the gift bag alongside a bigger present.
• A party game prize: the Giant Butter Squishy makes a funny one.

Not sure what they'd like? Send a gift card

If you can't decide which squishy (or which color) they'd pick, a Hunt & Hug e-gift card lets them choose for themselves. Gift cards start at $25, are delivered by email, and never expire, so they can shop whenever they're ready.
